I sculpted the face of this dainty stacking ring with help from the impression of my favorite crow feather.
It was summer. Chip, my neighbor crow, was sitting on a pedestrian sign, enjoying the sun, gently preening his wings. A flight feather came out of his right wing (this happens in the summer for crows).
After it came out, he held the base of that feather with his foot, and he continued gently preening it, caring for it one last time, smoothing it softly, before letting it slowly spiral down to the foliage below.
Killian, my caster, duplicates the sculpture for me, and then I make your ring to order: I hand forge the band out of sterling silver or 14k gold fill.
This feather ring pairs beautifully with my wing ring! (The particular feather I based this ring on comes from the particular wing I based my wing ring on. For realsies.)
